The family was cleaning the house when they came across what appeared to be live ammunition and contacted the authorities. Michigan police said on Twitter..
Police officers from the Michigan Police Bomb Disposal Team took X-rays of military relics and eventually determined that the round was not alive.
Instead, it was discovered that the shell contained a hidden pile of antique coins and banknotes dating from the 1800s to the early 1900s.
