White Sox Appoints Dallas Keuchel

Chicago — The Chicago White Sox appointed left-handed Dallas Keuchel on Saturday.

The Keuchel is 2-5, scoring 7.88 ERA with eight starts this year. He signed a $ 55.5 million three-year contract with Chicago in December 2019.

The 34-year-old Keuchel was tagged with 6 runs and 7 hits in 2 innings in a 16-7 defeat to the Red Sox on Thursday.

Lucas Giolito, Michael Kopech, Dylan Cease and Johnny Cueto take turns in the White Sox, and Lance Lynn is returning from surgery on his right knee. Vince Velasquez made a seven-time start for the team before throwing three hitless innings for relief on Tuesday night.

The White Sox also recalled infielder Danny Mendick from Triple A Charlotte before the match against the Crosstown Cubs on Saturday night.

Keuchel entered the majors in Houston in 2012. He won the ALCy Young Award in 2015, reaching 20-8 at 2.48 ERA with the Astros’ 33 starts.

The Keuchel had a solid first year in Chicago, reaching 6-2 with a brilliant 1.99 ERA at the 11th start of the 2020 season with a shortened pandemic. However, he struggled last year and finished in 32 games with 5.28 ERA.

The Keuchel is 101-87, scoring 3.86 ERA in 262 career games, including 251 starts.
