Watch: A deer swimming with a bucket on its head rescued

November 23 – An animal rescuer in New York found a deer swimming in Long Island Sound and came to help with a bucket of paint on his head.

Frank Floridia of the Strong Island Animal Rescue League responded to a scene near Port Jefferson when the general public reported a deer swimming with a bucket on his face.

Floridia said she initially tried to swim to the deer, but noticed that the water was too cold. When a nearby boater came to help and the boat was pulled up next to the deer, he hung on the side of the boat. The deer was clearly disorientated and swam in a circle.

Floridia said she was able to return the deer to the shore and remove the bucket.

“I hugged her in the boat and he brought us back to the shore. When we returned to the shore, I was still hugging her in front of the boat,” Floridia said. I told TV. “She seemed very calm. She knew she was being helped.”
