Emotional Obadiah Toppin from Brooklyn was thrilled to be ranked 8th by Knicks in the 2020 NBA draft on Wednesday night.
The 6’9 Toppin was named the 2020 National Player of the Year after an outstanding season in Dayton. The 22-year-old Flyers jumped into the spotlight and draft board, averaging 20 points and 7.5 rebounds.
Many pre-draft prophets thought Toppin might be chosen higher in the draft, especially in the No. 5 Cavaliers, where he fell to Knicks.
Nonetheless, this choice did not suffer from universal love on Twitter. Stephen A. Smith did his best to like it.
