Three Fort Drum soldiers die from apparent suicide every three days

Officials announced on Sunday that three Fort Drum soldiers died on suspicion of suicide last three days.

A base in northern New York announced the deaths in a statement on Sunday, stating that there was no link between the three incidents.

According to a statement by Maj. Gen. Milford H. Beagle, Jr., commander of the 10th Mountain Division, HQ gathered troops on Monday to discuss suicide prevention.

“It is our duty to reach out to your fighting companions during these challenges. Make sure they are okay,” Beagle said in a statement.

“I want you to know that for Fort Drum soldiers, the 10th Mountain Division, and our entire army, every life is worth living!” The commander continued.

Authorities have not disclosed the identities of the dead soldiers.
