Group date # 1
The first date card says, “Christian, Garrett, Tray, Quartney, Mike P., James, Justin, Thomas, Connor B., Karl, I’m looking for great love.” They all met Katie in the desert, where they walked to some sort of blackbox theater with a stage with a bed. It had “props” around it. Heather Mac Donald, the host of the Juicy Scoop podcast, was there to help her find “the best lover of all time.” They took a sex quiz, and poor Mike P. is a virgin. He continued to answer the question mark about the wipe-off. Then they were told they had to give a presentation showing why they were their greatest lovers, and Mike was very angry. He said he knew he would be put in this position, he didn’t think it needed to be dealt with on his first date.
Connor B. sang a funny sexy song while playing the guitar and threw a small piano. His talent for songwriting really impressed her. Tray performed a puppet show, and some other guys compared their body parts to vegetables. James is a fan of the box and is reminiscent of its SNL sketch, so I put my stuff in the box. Karl’s speech was a bit strange and even offended some of the others. It lasted too long.
Then it was Mike’s turn. He took her to the stage and read from her notebook what she wanted to tell her future wife. He revealed that he was saving himself for marriage. But Katie cried, including much about what he knew about Katie and why he was doing what he was doing! She was very impressed with what he said. Katie gave him a trophy and Mike was very happy!
That night, they all headed to a cocktail party where Katie could talk one-on-one with each and every one. Connor said he was flapping and wanted the opportunity to redo their first kiss. He also wore a cat costume that first night. He went for another kiss, and to be honest, it still looked awkward. You’ll need to see later if Katie is saying anything about this.
Katie and Karl talked a bit about their past relationship, but he was upset by another man. For a trade-inspiring speaker, he doesn’t seem to convey his point well. Thomas made the most of his time with Katie and she seemed to really enjoy his kiss. She jumped on his lap! But in the end, she confirmed that the group date had gone up.
One-on-one with Greg
Greg’s date card says, “Let’s make our love runaway!” Katie picked him up on a truck in a flannel hoodie and Greg wore the same outfit, which was really fun! She took him to the river, where they could go fishing. But first, they set up a tent, and Greg had never done it before. Katie had a hard time and found it really interesting. Then she had him pierce a five-gallon bucket to make an outdoor toilet, and Greg failed it by hitting it with a hatchet. I think he’s a more urban person. They made a fire and some s’mores and seemed to really get along. She told Greg that her dad died in 2012, and camp is her way to get Greg to meet him. She overcame her emotions a bit, and Greg did her best to make her feel comfortable. They walked towards the river and went fishing and shared a lot of hugs.
At dinner, Katie told Greg that she had a little difficulty opening the door to him because she was balancing knowing him with remembering bad childhood memories. Greg told her she wanted to know all aspects of her so that she could be open with him and he could be her rock. Then Greg told Katie that he lost his father two years ago. His father had stage 4 cancer and had only one month to live when Greg discovered it. He said one of his best memories was his father getting up at 6am and going fishing. Greg cried, hoping to see a girl whose father was planning to get married someday. He said it would be difficult to see her from the mother’s side without a father. Katie said she was grateful to him, and it was the first time she didn’t cry and found happiness in her father’s memories during their date. Katie took Greg out and went to a pick-up truck picnic where Rose was waiting for him. They kissed and then there was real fireworks! Greg said it was one of the best days he had spent a long time. Katie said she feels like she’s starting to fall for him!
Date of the second group
The date card for the second group says, “John, Andrew S., Kyle, Josh, Aaron, Brendan, Hunter, Cody, let’s get down and get dirty.” They woke up with Caitlin and Taisia hitting pots and pans. They sent the men out with their jammers and underwear. They wrestled with everyone’s mud! But first, they dressed up like cowboys before hitting the mud pits. Katie thought it was pretty hot. Then Aaron and Cody had to fight, remember, these two don’t like each other. They had that nasty conflict on the day of the night. It’s really aggressive! Aaron won. Katie gave Aaron a golden band by defeating Cody.
Aaron spent time alone with Katie to win the golden belt buckle. Katie asked him what the deal with hostility between him and Cody was. Aaron said it had something to do with some of Cody’s social media posts, and Cody did “things” that rubbed him the wrong way. He just wants to attend the show to make Cody famous and handles things in a malicious way. Aaron has been a “just cause” police officer for about two seconds. So hopefully he can use his time later to advance his relationship with Katie.
Katie grabbed Cody for the first time to talk to Cody during the afterparty. Katie said Aaron called him unfriendly and malicious. She said she was a little worried. Cody didn’t know what he was talking about and said it wasn’t factual. He said he wasn’t there because of his fame. Katie says one of them is lying and Aaron feels exaggerated. Cody was very angry that Aaron was ruining things for him.
Cody asked Aaron to talk. Cody asked Aaron why he had to even tell people he knew each other and why he had to grow something. Aaron said it was his responsibility to tell Katie the truth.
Then Katie asked Cody to talk again! She said she was going to send him home because she felt untrustworthy. He said he understood, but when he got into the car, he said it was absolutely insane. Katie said she had to obey her internal organs.
Katie told the rest of the guys that she had sent Cody home, and then she explained that she was taking some time for herself. So she went to gather her emotions before continuing the rest of the night. Andrew S. got up and brought a glass of champagne. He asked her if she wanted to talk internally, and she said so. He used his time to say that he was there for her and wanted to calm her mind. He told her that he was raised by a super strong woman who did everything with a smile. Andrew said they were a thrift shop and always wore the same jeans and shoes, but thanks to his mother, he didn’t feel that way. Katie said they grew up very poor, talked about how her dad made a fireplace out of drawing paper, and said Santa would definitely come. They shared a special moment and kissed. It was really sweet and helped get her head back in the game of knowing the rest of the men. In the end, she dated Andrew S.
Not everyone had a date this week, so some were trying to chat with her to make up for the lost time. Among them was Michael, a single dad. Katie made a speech about being there for the right reason. Then she grabbed Michael first! He was so happy that he spent some time with her. Katie told him he was so confident that he didn’t have to date! They shared some kisses and Katie laughed. Did anyone else notice the paint sitting at the table? I think she might have intended to give him a “mini date”, but instead they talked and kissed. That’s nothing wrong!
Karl decided to use his time to join the police for good reason. He doesn’t know the details, but some people said he didn’t have the best intentions. Karl refused to give Katie an example or name, which annoyed her. I’m sure he doesn’t know anything. The other guys were actually sitting around and talking about how great all the other guys were. This whole situation is just messing with her head. Karl is a pot stirrer.
Katie gathered all the men and gave them another good reason and cried. She says she hears that there are multiple people out there for the wrong reason. Suddenly she asked Aaron to talk. The rest of the men were surprised to sit there. Karl pretended to know nothing. She clearly felt that he could trust his opinion, so she pulled Aaron aside. While they were speaking, Karl admitted to others that he had told others that he wasn’t there for the right reason. Aaron told her she knew nothing she needed to worry about. He went out into the room and found out that Karl said so. Katie sat there, crying, and all the men insisted.
Next week’s preview showed that the man has been drama since this week. But wait, there’s more! Men begin to say that Thomas is an operational man who isn’t there for the right reason. For real? I have to wait until next week to find out.
