The end is the way to go

Las Vegas — One of the many attractions betting college football is that the action begins and doesn’t seem to end early Saturday. Especially if you have a late night match in Honolulu and a pretty good match on the island this week.

Boise State University beat Colorado 31 points last week as sophomore Hank Bahameyer returned to the quarterback after two games missed. Broncos, who needed a bounceback performance after Brigham Young was embarrassed at 51-17 on November 6, is a 13.5 point favorite in Hawaii.

Boise has been 4-0 against Hawaii since 2015, averaging 33.5 points behind. Broncos should have no problem getting more than 40 points in this match. The Warriors’ land defense was terrible, abandoning a total of 886 yards of rush yards in the last three games against San Diego State University, New Mexico, and Wyoming.

Hawaii’s sophomore quarterback Chevan Cordero can illuminate a weak defense, but he has the potential to fight Broncos. If it’s a puncture, Cordeiro can put points on the board in garbage time. The total has dropped from a height of 63½ to a number worth playing now.

pick: Boise-Hawaii, 57.5+.

Nevada, San Diego (+1): Wolfpack has a much better quarterback named Carson, straight 4-0, 3-1 against spreads. Nevada is headed by sophomore star Carson Strong. Carson Strong has a 1,517-yard pass, 12 touchdowns, and one passcut in four games.

Aztec Carson Baker passed just 30 yards and threw two intercepts, but was a quarterback who won against Hawaii last week. Baker defeated the Warriors 34-10 and 13-4. San Diego State University has dropped the last two in the series and was a 17-point favorite in last year’s defeat to Nevada. Nevada is well defensive and clearly has a big quarterback advantage.

Northwest Wisconsin (+7.5): Wildcats coach Pat Fitzgerald looks like a living dog in the battle for the top spot in the Big Ten West. He is the 17-9-1 ATS who has played the role of an underdog in the last 27 years and has covered 5 of the last 6 against badgers. Fitzgerald’s defenses have been tested and tough, with Indiana transfer quarterback Peyton Ramsey upgrading the attack.

Wisconsin returned last week to humiliate Michigan from a long furlough. Wolverines lagging behind 28-0, seemed terribly unprepared and soon quit the game. Badger defenses are legal and freshman quarterback Graham Meltz is a rising star, but after filling two bad teams, does Wisconsin overestimate laying more than touchdowns? Fitzgerald usually thrives in these situations.

last week: 1-3. Michigan (L), Arkansas (L), Boston University (L), New Mexico (W)
Season: 18-15-1.
