Tastykake Recall: Some Products May Contain Peanut Allergens

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Recently distributed Tasty Cakes will be recalled because they may contain peanuts, the brand’s parent company announced this week.
Flowers Foods, which owns Tastykakeis recalling some of its chocolate candy cakes, saying the packaging may actually contain peanut butter candy cakes. That’s a worry for allergy sufferers.
People with peanut allergies should not consume Tastykake Chocolate Kandy Kakes if marked “Consume by June 5” or contain the following product code: 0 25600 00225 4.
The batch was distributed May 11 to stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Virginia and West Virginia.
Flowers Foods says you can return the product to the place where you purchased it for a full refund.
There have been no reports of illness caused by recalled products.
