Statue of Liberty’s sister “Little Lady Liberty” arrives in New Jersey on July 4th

Elizabeth, NJ (WABC)-The Statue of Liberty has a sister on the weekend of July 4, as a 9-foot-high bronze statue, a perfect replica of the Statue of Liberty, arrived in New Jersey on Wednesday.

It was sent from France like the original and followed the same path.

The FDNY water cannon welcomed the cargo ship CMA CGMNERVAL carrying the “Little Lady Liberty” when it arrived in the United States.

The £ 1,000 statue anchored in Elizabeth was greeted by Governor Phil Murphy and French Ambassador Philippe Etienne.

The statue will then be placed in New York Harbor, celebrating Independence Day with her sister from July 1st to 5th.

It will then move to Washington, DC and be set up at the French Ambassador’s residence in time for Bastille Day.

This statue arrived after a nine-day voyage from France. Here, in Paris for the past 10 years, we have welcomed visitors at the entrance of the Art Emétier Museum of the National Crafts Museum.

The iconic journey recreates the original trip to the United States and represents the friendship between the two countries.
