Stony Brook, NY (CBSNewYork) — All schools at the State University of New York are undergoing a final test.
Carolyn Guzov of CBS2 reported on Tuesday that it was an ambitious plan to require all students to be tested for COVID-19 before returning to Thanksgiving holidays.
The SUNY Stony Brook ballroom, previously reserved for large ballroom events, is now used for large-scale coronavirus testing.

Thousands of saliva tests are done daily at State University. The 10-day mission is to test all 140,000 students on campus before returning to vacation.
“I don’t want to spread COVID,” said John Tafe, a student at Stony Brook.
Emily Lamb takes the test the day before she returns to her grandmother’s house.
“She’s a very vulnerable person, so I don’t want to bring it back to her,” Ram said.
In an editorial in Daily News, State University of New York President Jim Maratlas wrote, “We are actively working on the largest higher education system in the United States to prevent students from taking their COVID home.”
“This could turn a dime on. People are fed up with it, but it never disappears. It’s wise and wise, like we do at the State University of New York, which we mandate. I think we need a good testing strategy, “says Maratlas.
If students test positive, SUNY requires the university to quarantine or quarantine them in the dorm room. The local health department will work with the student to determine if they can return home safely. That led to some protests against the government’s overkill.

The students said they would pay Guzov a small amount.
“It’s not ideal, but you have to do what you have to do, and I think everyone understands it,” said Elaginsberg of Stony Brook. It was.
“Currently, if you violate your health orders, you can either stop or expel from school, so these are serious consequences,” Maratlas added.

After Thanksgiving, all study will take place only remotely, students will return in February and spring break will be cancelled.
The prime minister said that students make bad raps for virus-spreading behavior, but the majority are doing the right thing and want to be part of the solution. Mandatory Thanksgiving testing is part of the solution.
According to SUNY officials, it takes about 48 hours for students to receive the test results.
