Woodbury, NY (CBSNewYork) – Long Island’s father and son were vaccinated with COVID at the same time on Tuesday.
73-year-old Alan Kovner spent several weeks in the hospital fighting the coronavirus. He is currently in Excel at the Woodbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. His son, Josh, is a therapeutic recreation assistant there. They qualify for the early stages of vaccination, but there is disagreement over who should be vaccinated first.
“Josh and the people he works with, they should get it first. If they don’t get it first, they’re disappointing them again,” Alain said. ..
“I would rather have the inhabitants get it first, but since I work in front of them, it protects and it makes sense for me and my colleagues to get it. Therefore, keeping them safe is a priority and I’m glad I got it, “Josh said.
Alain says he wants the vaccine to turn things around, but everyone needs to follow safety guidelines.
