Drew Brees rib and lung damage turned out to be more serious than initially thought. On Saturday, it was revealed that the New Orleans Saints star had 11 broken ribs. According to ESPN..
ESPN reported that the number has increased since the initial diagnosis of five rib fractures in quarterback breaths, which also have collapsed lungs. Additional tests showed that eight ribs were broken on the left side of the breath and three ribs were broken on the right side.
Breeze suffered a second-quarter sack on Kentavius Street, which Saints called a rib injury last week against the San Francisco 49ers, which was determined to be trolling passers-by. Doctors also believe he may have been injured in a previous match but may have continued to play.
Saints officially put Breeze on the injured list on Friday. He was initially expected to miss three games, but the latest medical updates could leave him longer.
Breeze, 40, is the NFL’s greatest leader in passyards and touchdown passes. However, Saints went 5-0 last season without a star signaler as his ligaments broke and healed with his throwing hand.
The top 7-2 saints in NFC South will host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Tasam Hill gets a nod to start in the quarterback ahead of Jameis Winston.
