Police: Suspected kidnapping sought Bloomberg’s daughter | National News

The sheriff’s office in Rio Blanco County, where the ranch is located, said in a statement that Beecher had nothing to do with Bloomberg or the alleged victim. The motive for going to the ranch, which was purchased for $ 44.8 million in April 2020, is being investigated.

While she was detained, the victim’s suspect said Beecher had told her she went to Meeker Airport in July in search of Bloomberg. She also said he called Bloomberg’s daughters by name when he asked about their whereabouts.

Bloomberg has two adult daughters, Emma and Georgina.

According to the affidavit, Beecher lived in Craig, Colorado, about 70 miles (113 km) from Bloomberg Ranch and worked as a handyman in an apartment complex. He received the house in exchange for his work, but he was fired on Tuesday and told he had to leave, it said.

A surveillance video on Wednesday showed a Beecher-owned pickup truck passing through a security gate at Bloomberg Ranch.

He then reportedly found an employee working in a ranch service house, left her with him, and pushed a damaged truck down onto the embankment to hide it.

The woman told investigators that Beecher made many threatening remarks to her, but she tried to act friendly to calm him down. When she was forced to withdraw money from an ATM, she said she said “help” in the hope that it would be recorded by a mechanical surveillance camera.
