Pigeon sells for record $ 1.9 million at auction – CBS New York

Check the price of special pigeons at auction. Its name is New Kim, and it is known for its high speed among pigeon racers.

At a recent online auction in Belgium, New Kim’s bid started at $ 230.

But then two Chinese bidders fought for birds, raising the final price to $ 1.9 million.

Nicholas Geiselbrecht, CEO of Pigeon Auction House PIPA, said: “Dove, New Kim is very special.

Pigeon racing is popular in Belgium. It’s an old sport that dates back hundreds of years.

The military also used fast birds to deliver messages during World War I and World War II.
