Our America: Todos Unidos | Resources and organizations that support the Hispanic community in our area

New York – This Hispanic Cultural Heritage Month joins ABC7NY to celebrate Hispanic and Latin culture and traditions and explore community-specific social and cultural challenges. “Our America: Todos Unidos” It will premiere on Wednesday, September 15th on ABC-owned TV station streaming app and Hulu.

Here are organizations working to support Hispanic, Latin American and Latin American communities in our region and across the country.

Local resources

Hispanic Federation Co., Ltd. -The Hispanic Federation (HF) is one of the country’s leading Latin non-profit membership organizations. Founded in 1990, HF empowers and advances the Hispanic community, supports Hispanic families and promotes Latin institutions through activities in the areas of education, health, immigration, civic participation, financial empowerment and the environment. We aim to strengthen it.

National Dominican Day Parade –Dominican Day Parade, Inc. Is a non-partisan 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that hosts annual parades and festivals that promote the culture, folklore, and richness of popular traditions of the Dominican Republic. This organization strives to provide an understanding of the heritage and contributions of the Dominican community in the United States and around the world.

National Puerto Rican Day Parade -National Puerto Ricandy celebrates and celebrates leaders, educators, artists and celebrities who have left a cultural mark in the country. It also helps provide resources for education.

Parliamentary Hispanic Caucus Institute –Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) is one of the country’s leading Hispanic non-profit and non-partisan 501 (c) (3) organizations working to develop the next generation of Latin leaders.

National Hispanic Journalist Association (NAHJ) -The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) is committed to Hispanic awareness and professional progress in the news industry. Founded in April 1984, NAHJ has created a national voice and a unified vision for all Hispanic journalists.

Emerald Isle Immigration Center -Emerald Isle helps migrants access health and social services.

Make the road New York –Make the Road New York builds the power of an immigrant and working class community to achieve dignity and justice.

Voces Latinas –Voces Latinas aims to reduce the rate of HIV transmission and violence among immigrant Latin Americans, strengthening, educating and providing leadership and advocacy training so that they can themselves and their families. Allows you to make healthier decisions. Through partnerships, we connect migrant Latina with culturally and linguistically sensitive services to address their urgent needs and identify HIV / AIDS risks.
