Times Square was shaking on Monday night.
From the band to Santa, the proud members of the NYPD wished everyone a very happy holiday, but more than that, they ensure that tourists can safely visit the Big Apple.
“We want people to know that Times Square is safe,” said Jeffrey Madley, New York Police Department Community Director. “We want people to have a good time. Have a safe and good time.”
Victor Gonzalez, a tourist from Barcelona, said, “Do you feel safe with all the police? Yes, we feel very safe.”

The band kept the beat while Santa and his cheerful elf were handing out gifts.
Police officers were delighted to take pictures and distribute safety tips. Almost everyone is fine.
It was a perfect surprise for families in southern New Jersey. They weren’t sure if it would be safe to bring their precious granddaughter here again and were excited, so look at so many uniforms and even heavy trucks.
“It’s pretty cool. I feel perfect. No worries at all,” said tourist Jim Merciona.
This is just an appetizer. NYPD has an additional 75,000 toys for children in New York City. Yes, all five provinces visit from Santa near Christmas.
From December 20th to December 22nd, they will visit disadvantaged areas, spread a little cheers to young people and build relationships with their families.
NYPD, with one smile at a time, trying to regain a sense of security in this city.
