Look and you’ll find — a school weapon in New York City.
City officials installed a metal detector at Brooklyn High School the day after the students were there Bust with a loaded gun — And in just one day, you’ve discovered an amazing 21 weapons, law sources said.
The Ministry of Education installed a scanner at the City Council School for Law and Justice in downtown Brooklyn Thursday morning after a 17-year-old student got a 9mm pistol and over $ 30,000 in cash.
Schools usually do not have a scanner installed.
However, Thursday’s surprise installation got a variety of weapons, including nine knives, seven pepper spray cans, four stun guns, and a pair of brass knuckles.
The discovery happened the day after a school student appeared around noon and entered the office to record his attendance.
The secretary found what he thought was a pistol in his backpack and warned the school’s safety officer.
Students were detained until New York Police Department troops arrived and found a gun and tens of thousands of dollars in cash. The student was arrested and taken to the local district.
Greg Floyd, chairman of the School Safety Agents Union, said he wasn’t surprised by the amazing transport on Thursday.
“Again,” he said. “I ask a question. How many weapons do we have in our school? I don’t know. This is just the tip of the iceberg.”
Floyd repeatedly opposed people seeking the removal of safety agents and metal detectors from schools.
“They aren’t really trading,” he said. “Parents should be afraid of them.
Some municipal schools have detectors all year round, while others are subject to random or temporary scans.
Mayor De Blasio chose to increase unannounced scans earlier this year after a surge in violence. Gun attacks in and around the city school.
