NEW YORK (PIX11) — They are facing off again.
Democrat Max Rose attended PIX on Politics on Sunday to discuss a rematch with incumbent Rep. Nicole Mariotakis as representative of New York’s 11th congressional district, representing parts of Staten Island and Brooklyn.
A recent poll for Spectrum News puts Mario Takis in the lead. Rose said he is not focused on polls. Although his constituency tends to be conservative, Rose said he was confident in his potential.
“This district, to its core, is filled with people who have dedicated their lives to service,” he said.
Both candidates scored easy victories in their respective elections primary race In a district that includes all of Staten Island and parts of Southwest Brooklyn. The candidates are the same, but the districts after the remap are slightly different. The district still includes all of Staten Island, but its Brooklyn boundaries have shifted and creep further north, but not as far east.
