man inside new york After going to the wrong address while looking for a friend’s house, he was charged with second-degree murder after he accidentally set fire to the car of a young man who drove to his house.
The shooting killed 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis, who was in the car with three friends.
Washington County Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy said on Monday that the gang accidentally drove into a house about 19 miles northeast of Gillis’ residence in Skylerville.
As they tried to turn the car around, local resident Kevin Monahan came out of the house and fired two shots, one of which hit Gillis. Murphy said no one in the group got out of the car or attempted to enter Monaghan’s home.
Murphy said at a press conference, “She was just an innocent girl who went with her friend to find another friend’s house. There was no reason for Mr. Monaghan to feel threatened.”
The news comes after a Missouri homeowner shot a black teenager twice when the youth accidentally knocked on his door. picked up his twin brother from a play date in Kansas City and called the wrong house when he said his son was left for dead.
