New album Rush will give big bucks to people who said rock bands don’t play Eurovision, Maneskin says

MANESKIN has been on the hunt for global stardom since his surprise win at Eurovision.

Less than two years after winning in Rotterdam, the Italian glam rockers are headlining London’s O2 Arena.

Davidguitarist Thomas Raghi and drummer Ethan Tokio are lounging on the sofa, chatting with me on a video call.

Bassist Victoria de Angelis is absent due to illness, but the chatty trio make up for the absence of their missing bandmate.

“Crazy Mick and Keith Story”

David adds: Today, nobody cares if you’re rock or pop. They just want to enjoy music and that’s all. ”

The band’s third album, Rush! contains songs in rock, pop, funk and glam styles and boasts 17 tracks.

With high points like the beautiful ballad “If Not For You,” the punky number “Mammamia,” and the fan-favorite “Supermodel,” this is an album that proves Måneskin’s longevity. David says: But we wanted to make it the old fashioned way.

“When people listen to this album, it’s clear that it reflects the band as a whole.

“This is an album that honors four individuals and shows how confident we can show different sides, but clearly Måneskin. And you can hear the basics.”

David says: Torchio adds: [Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium] It was my first time playing in a stadium.

Then the band spent the morning cold play The singer and his partner after both bands performed at a festival in Vegas.

David says: I had brunch instead of breakfast.

After collaborating with the legendary Iggy Pop on their 2021 single I Wanna Be Your Slave, the band worked with another big name on Rush! — Gossip by Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine.

“Yes, it’s also crazy,” laughs Torchio. “We first met at Roxy’s show in Los Angeles, and we spent three months there, so he came over and we were jamming together.

“The main riff for that song was written the day before, but Tom influenced the song. We were in the room together, so the song has real energy.”

Raggi says Måneskin had a lot of elation, but admits it’s hard to be away from loved ones.

One of the best songs in Rush! It’s a brilliant If Not For You, which David says is “basically a love letter.”

“It can be lonely on the street,” he admits. “We are fortunate to be friends and family, but it can be difficult at times.

“Many artists are starting to share not only the beautiful parts of this life, but also the negative. When you’re feeling down or overwhelmed with work, it’s important to let people know that there are limits. I think it’s important.

“It makes connecting with fans more honest and empathetic. I admire what Shawn Mendes has done. [the singer postponed his live shows to focus on his mental health] And many artists do the same.

“Be brave, courageous and show responsibility. Such movements are slowly changing our environment to make it healthier.”

The album cover for Rush! shows a girl jumping over a band, and Raggi says it’s a photo that everyone felt right.

“It shows a girl sticking to her team that can be both positive and negative.”

David adds: Our days were hectic. ”

“I had a stalker and it scared me, so the song talks about a stalker,” says David.

“I think sometimes there needs to be a healthier relationship between fans and celebrities, so this is a topic that needs to be talked about. I think there are, but I think it’s the most unhealthy thing to do.

“It makes fans hopeful and people do crazy things.

“Collaborating with Gucci was a big opportunity.”

“I think people need to be educated on how to interact and understand when people are crossing the line.

“Artists need to understand the red flags and when to walk away if disgusted or disgusted.

“This mentions very few and we need to talk more about it.”

Music isn’t the only focus for Måneskin. The good-looking band has also garnered attention for its bold fashion, personally selected by Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele to appear in his label’s recent campaign.

David, who just shaved his head, said:

“They’re one of the biggest brands in the world and they’re Italian so it was perfect. We found a beautiful band and beautiful people to work with.”

In May, Måneskin headlined the O2 in London. Just two and a half years after his first London gig at the Tufnell Park dome.

Torchio said:

“London is like our second home, so we are excited about O2,” adds David. “Don’t think too much, because you feel the pressure.

“You don’t feel anything until you get on stage and it all starts. It’s such an adrenaline rush.

“We just try to do what we love and have fun with it. That’s our attitude to everything.”
