Nassau County Approves 99-Year Lease with Las Vegas Sands, Colosseum Grounds Ready for Casino Construction

Uniondale, New York — Nassau County Congress approved a 99-year lease with Las Vegas Sands.
It opens the door for a $4 billion resort and casino to be built on the grounds of the Nassau Coliseum.

The Say No to Casinos civic group opposes the proposed development, saying it will bring crime and traffic to the area.
In a statement Tuesday, the group said, in part, that it “deeply regrets that elected officials ignored voters’ concerns and approved the lease transfer.”
