Motorcycle rider dies after being thrown off bike on Major Deegan Highway

Motthaven, Bronx (WABC) — A motorcycle rider was struck and killed on the Major Deegan Freeway in the Bronx.
Officials said the rider collided just before 4:30 a.m. Tuesday while heading west on the freeway.
The victim landed in a wooded area on Brook Avenue and East 135th Street and was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
NewsCopter7 was monitoring the scene on Willis Avenue. Police initially closed the entire highway to investigate the accident.
Investigators moved under the freeway on Brook Avenue. His two lanes of major Deegan freeway have been reopened.
