Congressman Max Rose is officially considering a campaign to become the city’s next mayor.
Rose emailed supporters on Sunday.
Democrats leave parliament last month after losing a bid for re-election to Republican Nicole Mario Takis.
Rose submitted the paperwork prior to the possibility of this week’s implementation. This will allow him to start financing the campaign.
Rose was first elected to Parliament in 2018 to serve the 11th Parliamentary District, which covers Staten Island and southern Brooklyn.
Rose will join the already very crowded Democratic Mayor’s Primary.
Candidates for the official race include city treasurer Scott Stringer, Brooklyn Autonomous President Eric Adams, former De Blasio adviser Maya Wiley, and city council member Carlos Menchaka.
