Man survives NYC hit-and-run: policeman

A man was struggling to survive after being hit by a hit-and-run driver in Lower Manhattan early Sunday morning, police said.

Officers said the 53-year-old victim was beaten around 4:45 a.m. on Third Avenue and St. Mark’s Place.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.

Police said the driver who hit him left the scene and did not give a description of the vehicle.
