LIRR Stops Metro-North Service Prior to Hurricane Henri – CBS New York

New York (CBSNewYork) — Part of Long Island Rail Road When Metro North Will be stopped on sunday Hurricane Henri arrives in the tri-state area.
NS MTA Announced that there is no LIRR service to the east of Patchogue on the Montauk branch, or to Green Point.

The entire New Haven Line and the Wasek branch of the Harlem Line will also be out of service.
“The Metro-North region is particularly vulnerable to strong winds due to trees and fictitious power lines,” said Metro-North President Catherine Rinaldi.

“If possible, we strongly recommend avoiding unnecessary trips,” said Phil Eng, President of LIRR.
Patrol trains, if safe, operate on the suspended parts of the LIRR to assess damage.
