Problem: Maya Wiley wants to cut NYPD funding despite benefiting from private security.

A good candidate for mayor, Maya Wily, has declared that if elected mayor, the NYPD will be cut off for a staggering $ 1 billion ($ 1 billion).“It’s not Maya’s problem!” June 8).

However, the candidate forgot to say he lives in a high-class district in Brooklyn that has been patrolled and protected by a private security company.

Wily wants to reduce the number of people there to protect you and me, but she thinks she’s too elite to protect the everyday police we depend on.

Leave it to the No. 1 hypocrite, Congressman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, to boost Wily and her crazy liberal agenda.

Forget about Wily. New Yorkers are well worth much better than this.

Wow, I just opened my eyes: a politician, in this case one running for mayor is a hypocrite. Considerable revelation.

Wily is under the protection of a privately hired police officer while conducting a campaign to fund the police for us. She said her partner paid for it.

Public safety and police are the number one issue, but there are many other issues that require strong leadership.

Listen to the true leader standing up and talk about what just humans are talking to their neighbors, children, and caregivers. The silence of politicians is jarring.

Emmanuel Gross

The front cover of the Post says everything, “It’s not a Maya issue.”

This is always happening — our great politicians say things like “fund the police.”

How can I fund the police when crime is so prevalent? How many innocent young children will be killed just because you’re trying to win a vote?

Why not go to these areas and listen to people with community leaders? They are begging for increased police protection. They don’t have the luxury of a gated community.

Sam King

This is exactly the action of our politicians who refuse to vote for the American people. What a blatant hypocrisy.

Wily’s actions are the exact opposite of Eric Adams’ actions. Thank God. Still, calm and wise people are running for office. Let’s hope he wins. A person like her can’t win.

The most direct way to seize a gun, both now and in the past, is Stop and Frisk. However, the tactic is not endorsed by the mayor’s timid candidate.

Just thinking will hurt the sensibility of politicians trying to get a job. Of course, they are not at risk. Candidate Wily’s residential area is protected by private security services.

Stop and Frisk, which is blamed for low yields, has life-saving benefits.

Both the anti-crime unit and the stop-and-risk tool, both stopped by the mayor, had a direct negative impact on the city’s gun violence. They need to be undone.

Phil Serpico

For someone like Wily, how comfortable and encouraging it would be to be able to return to their privately secured $ 2.7 million home after a tough day.

The election of another progressive liberal instigator, triggered by the worst memorable mayor, is not exactly what the city needs.

Elections are an opportunity to show support for law, order and police. Ultimately, voters will get what they deserve.

Robert Mangi

Wily has a gloomy platform for funding police. She has full security protection from the gorgeous Brownstone Ivory Tower, and crime is rampant around her.

She is a warrior of social justice who completely ignores and ignores law and order.

The large number of opposition members running for mayoral elections is astounding.
