Hubert, who told Sandra Bookman in WABC’s “Here & Now” interview program, confused many viewers by explaining that he had disappeared from the show after the third season, which was replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reed. I did.
Contrary to what many expected, Hubert was not fired from the show. In fact, she declined the offer for a new contract following the third season, hoping for renegotiation.
“They offered me 10 weeks of work and said they couldn’t work elsewhere. My agent said you couldn’t accept this. They’re back, but they do. It wasn’t, “Hubart explained.
Hubert saw the contract as an attempt to “put her in her place.” But long before the offer of the deal, she was experiencing friction on the set.
“I wasn’t laughing at Will’s joke, so I was told I had to go to the dressing room between takes,” she explained.
When asked if he was surprised that other cast members didn’t support her, Hubert said, “No, I wasn’t surprised. Everyone in Hollywood is talking about the check.
“The cast was offered the money to beat me,” Hubert continued.
After years of feud, Will Smith apologized to Hubert for how he treated her on a comedy set during an episode of “Red Table Talk.”
“I’ve been waiting for those words for a long time,” Hubert told Bookman.
When asked if it would be easy to accept Will’s apology, Hubert said, “It was very easy because I felt honest. I felt a change. He is not the same person as when he was 21.”
