new york Honda has recalled approximately 1.2 million vehicles in the US for the rear-view camera image that may not appear on the dashboard screen.

The recall covers select Odyssey minivans from 2018 to 2023, as well as Pilot SUVs from 2019 to 2022 and Passport SUVs from 2019 to 2023.

In a document released Friday by US safety regulators, Honda said the problem was caused by a defective coaxial cable connector. According to the U.S. Highway Traffic Safety Administration, if the rear-view camera image is not visible, the driver’s view may be obstructed, increasing the risk of an accident.

Honda announced that it received about 274,000 warranty claims from May to June 8, 2017, but no injuries were reported.

Dealers will replace cable harnesses and install corrective covers free of charge to owners, who will be notified by letter from 24 July.
