Hasim Rahman JR weighed in at 206.6 pounds even though his fight with Jake Paul was cancelled.
Rahman called for a late weigh-in at New York’s famed Gleason’s Boxing Gym. to prove he can make 205 pounds.
And after SunSport got on board and dropped a pound over his weight, he said:
“Stop being scared, I’m here in 206, obviously I can make 205. Give people what they want.
“They want to see us fight, they want to see you standing in the ring with a real fighter, you have a real fighter here, willing to earn 205.
“Stop being scared and start fighting. It’s that simple.”
The son of heavyweight legend Hashem Sr was scheduled to take on Paul at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden this weekend.
However, the entire Madison Square Garden pay-per-view was scrapped due to a weight mismatch between the two.
The 31-year-old Rahman signed to fight at the 14th 4-pound cruiser weight limit 200-pound, despite being 16 stones in his final bout in April.
So the New York State Athletic Commission wanted to track his weight loss, but later changed his fight weight to 205 pounds.
Paul then urged Rahman to discontinue the MSG card, refusing to change it, claiming it would scale over £215.
However, Rahman denied the allegations, resulting in an undisclosed weigh-in.
