The Federal Department of General Procurement has notified Joe Biden in the presidential election that the Trump administration is ready to begin the transition of power.
A confirmation letter from GSA administrator Emily Murphy provided details of the development. This is what President Trump acknowledged in a tweet.
“I would like to thank GSA’s Emily Murphy for her firm dedication and loyalty to our country. She has been harassed, threatened and abused. This happens to her, her family and GSA employees. I don’t want to see Trump tweeted..
“Our case continues strongly, we are good … keep fighting, and I believe we will win! Nevertheless, for the best interests of our country, I Encouraged Emily and her team to do what needs to be done with respect to the first protocol and told my team to do the same. ” The president wrote..
The move paves the way for the start of the transition from the Trump administration and allows Biden to coordinate with federal agencies on plans to take over on January 20.
“Know that I made the decision independently based on the law and the facts available. I am from government officials, including those working at the White House and GSA, what my decision is. There has never been any direct or indirect pressure on or timing, “Murphy wrote in a letter to Biden.
This decision will be made on Monday when the Michigan Election Commission voted to prove Biden’s favorable state election results.
