Girl died in a home fire in Plainfield, NJ

Plainfield, NJ (WABC)-A girl died in a fire in New Jersey.

A fire broke out in a house on North Avenue and Johnston Avenue after 1 am on Sunday.

Firefighters and police arrived at the scene and worked swiftly to find the people trapped inside.

During their search, they found an unresponsive girl and another child suffering from smoke inhalation.

A total of 21 people were evacuated due to the fire.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
