Four people open fire at Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso, Texas

At least four people were shot and one died at the Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso, Texas, according to local officials and witnesses. The suspect was arrested near the scene.

The incident occurred around 5:10 p.m. Wednesday in or near the food court at El Paso’s Cielo Vista Mall near the U.S.-Mexico border. The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately apparent.

A spokesman for the El Paso Police Department confirmed four people were shot, including one who died at the scene. Two of the victims were taken to the University Medical Center in critical condition.

Malls were cordoned off, police searched stores, and customers and employees were evacuated. One suspect was taken into custody near the mall, but officers are still looking for another suspect.
