Former Assistant to Andrew Cuomo accuses New York Governor of sexual harassment | Andrew Cuomo

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who is running for Mayor of Manhattan, accused him of sexually harassing her in a series of tweets on Sunday for making inappropriate comments about her appearance.

This allegation arises because a 63-year-old Democrat is reported to be under consideration for the Attorney General under Joe Biden.

Sunday, Lindsey Boylan Tweet The Cuomo said, “I have been sexually harassing me for years. Many have seen and seen it.

“I couldn’t predict what I would expect. Will I be grilled (very good) at my job or harassed about my appearance? Or both are in the same conversation. This has been the way for years. “

“These claims are untrue,” said Cuomo spokesman Caitlin Gilard.

Boylan, 36, served in the Cuomo administration from March 2015 to October 2018, serving as Executive Vice President of Empire State Development and then Special Advisor to Cuomo’s Economic Development.

She didn’t provide details of the harassment and tweeted after not responding to the message immediately. “For clarity, I’m not interested in talking to journalists. I’m about examining the experience of countless women and ensuring that abuse is stopped.”

Boylan faced US Congressman Jerrold Nadler in the 2020 Democratic preliminaries, winning 22% of the votes, claiming that incumbents weren’t progressive enough. She announced last month that she was running for the 2021 Primary to replace Gale Brewer, Mayor of Manhattan.

Earlier this month, Boylan tweeted about her experience in the Cuomo administration. She said this was the worst job she had ever experienced.

“I tried to finish three times before getting stuck. I’ve been working hard. Hustle-forge it until you style it,” she wrote. “The environment is beyond toxicity. I’m still unpacking it with treatment years later!”

A 2018 personnel memo obtained by the Associated Press indicates that Boylan resigned after facing complaints about his actions.

“Ms. Boyland harassed, despised, yelled, and acted in a generally non-expert manner,” some women complained to the Empire State Development’s Human Resources department.

Boylan resigned to receive “counseling” about his complaint after meeting with officials, including Cuomo’s Supreme Attorney Alfonso David.

In a follow-up note, David said Boylan contacted him a few days later and said she would reconsider and return to work, but he discouraged doing so.
