Five people found dead in murder-suicide in Illinois home

Five people were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide at a home in Buffalo Grove just north of Chicago, police said. It was not immediately clear how the victim was killed.

The incident was first reported at 11:12 a.m. Wednesday when police were called to a single-family home on Block 2800 of Acacia Terrace to check on the woman’s health.

The Buffalo Grove Police Department said in a statement, “We were unable to contact anyone at the home when police arrived.” “It was determined that forced entry was necessary, and the house was swept. Five dead bodies were found.”

Investigators believe the case was a domestic-related murder-suicide with no indication of a threat to the public.

“The Lake County Serious Crimes Task Force is supporting this ongoing investigation,” police said. “The name of the deceased has been withheld pending the coroner’s investigation and notification of next of kin.”

Buffalo Grove is a village about 26 miles northwest of downtown Chicago.
