Fires in New York City: Apartment fire at Harlem’s Jackie Robinson House kills 5-year-old girl, seriously injures two adults

Harlem, Manhattan (WABC) — A 5-year-old girl died and two adults were seriously injured after a fire broke out in an apartment in Harlem.

At about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, the girl, her father, and his father’s girlfriend were trapped in Apt 6M when flames broke out at the Jackie Robinson House on East 129th Street.

Father and daughter taken to Harlem hospital, girl pronounced dead

Girlfriend was taken to Lincoln Hospital.

A father in his 40s and his girlfriend are in critical condition.

Three dogs also died in the fire.

The cause was under investigation.

At least one e-bike was on fire at the scene, but it’s unclear how it was related.
