Fantasy Football: Wilson, Herbert, Jackson Week 14 Quarterback Rankings

December 9th – Russell Wilson is at the top of my 14th week fantasy football quarterback ranking in 2020.

Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady conclude the top five options for the 14th week. Patrick Mahomes, Ryan Tannehill, Matt Ryan, Kyler Murray and Ben Roethlisberger are also in my top ten.

We’ll also consider starting Sam Darnold this week, but only if that position is very desperate in a league of at least 14 teams.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the NFL’s schedule and player availability, we’ll be monitoring each player’s game status this week. Now that the goodbye week is over, there should be more options when it comes to finding a good defensive matchup for quarterbacks.

Check out my article on the players with the easiest and most difficult playoff schedules to find out who will start this postseason and who will avoid it.

Here are some of my favorite players in this week’s rankings.

Top shelf

Russell Wilson looked like a runaway MVP in the league earlier this season, but has been struggling lately. The Seattle Seahawks star has been ranked outside the top 20 quarterbacks of fantasy points per game in the last four appearances.

Despite his recent struggle, Wilson remains my top option in the 14th week position. The Seahawks will face the New York Jets on Sunday. Jets allowed quarterbacks the third highest number of fantasy points per game.

I expect Wilson to throw at least 300 yards and three touchdown passes in the first round of the fantasy football playoffs.

Los Angeles Chargers rookie Justin Herbert threw one touchdown pass in the last two games after seven consecutive games with at least two touchdown passes per game. I think the Chargers quarterback will be thrown throughout the Atlanta Falcons in the 14th week.

The Falcons allow quarterbacks the most fantasy points per game. Herbert throws at least 300 yards, and this matchup requires three touchdown passes. He is my second choice.

SNEAKY PLAYS

Lamar Jackson is recovering from COVID-19 and is trying to recover from the struggles of his early season. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback was one of the best fantasy football performances of the season in the 13th week, with two touchdown passes, a 94-yard rushyard, and a score against the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday.

Jackson hopes to maintain that momentum in the 14th week of Ravens’ fight against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are one of the best teams in the AFC this season, but they are struggling to pass. They allowed the fourth-passing touchdown in the NFL.

I think Jackson will throw at least two touchdown passes and rush over 80 yards. He is my third quarterback.

The Tennessee Titans Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is my seventh option. Tannehill performed the best fantasy football of the season in the 13th week, passing 389 yards and scoring three goals for the Cleveland Browns.

He has thrown at least two touchdown passes in two of the last three games. We expect Tannehill to throw two more touchdown tosses this week when the Titans face Jacksonville Jaguar.

Jaguar allowed quarterbacks the fourth most fantasy points per game. They are also tied to allow a second passing touchdown to that position.

Start Tannehill as a streamer for the 14th week.

Long shot

The Atlanta Falcons Quarterback Matt Ryan is my eighth choice. Ryan has recently had a very tough defensive matchup, but will take a break in the 14th week when the Falcons will face the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers allowed quarterbacks the sixth highest number of fantasy points per game. I hope this game will be a shootout. Ryan and the Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert throws it all over the field. Ryan is a must-see QB1.

Sam Darnold isn’t the one to rush into a quarterback slot, but it can get worse if he’s desperate for that position. The New York Jets quarterback is the one who falls asleep as he has a great match against the Seattle Seahawks in the 14th week.

The Seahawks allowed quarterbacks the league’s highest 3,877-yard pass and the second highest fantasy points per game. Darnold threw two touchdown passes and rushed another score against the Las Vegas Raiders in the 13th week.

You can see another two-touchdown high-yard performance from Darnold on Sunday in Seattle. He is my 18th choice.
