Fans flood Brooklyn subway station for the infamous BIG metrocard

Fans of Biggie Smalls filled Brooklyn’s subway station on Saturday and won a commemorative metrocard to celebrate the late years of hip-hop rappers. 50th birthday..
Approximately 50,000 cards were packed into the metrocard machines at four stations in Brooklyn, home of the Biggie known as “Notorious Big.”
About 100 people lined up at a time, waiting hours at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center Station for a crack in buying a card with a portrait of the late Rapper.
Many have said it’s worth it.
After buying five metrocards, Melissa Pajuero, 30, of Brighton Beach, said, “It was a long and hot two hours.” “Two are for me, the other two are for my boyfriend and the last one is for my homeboy.”
“It’s Biggie Smalls. He’s an icon,” she added. “Because I was born and raised in Brooklyn, who doesn’t want this?”
“I’m not going to use this card,” said 62-year-old Carmen Torres in a Biggie T-shirt. “I’m going to put it in a safe place.”


Cameron McGinn, 27, from Manhattan, said the MTA’s commemorative metrocard is a wise business move.
“I’ve always been a big fan of Biggie,” he said. “This is a cool way and a unique item to win and show true fandom.”
“Clearly people are crazy about it,” he added. “I will be back for another person.”


An enterprising man tried to make some big bucks by scalping commemorative cards to people trying to avoid long waits.
“$ 40! Who do you want?” He exclaimed.
Metrocard is one of the many ways Big Apple has celebrate 50th birthday in his later years Notoriously shot and killed rap star In 1997 after leaving the vibe party in Los Angeles. He was 24 years old. The case has not been resolved yet.


Biggie, whose real name is Christopher Wallace, signed with Sean Combs’ Bad Boy label when it was launched in 1993. His debut album “Lady to Die” was released a year later and was highly acclaimed worldwide, “Big Poppa” and “Juicy.”
