Dozens of people rescued on a broken “Skyfari” at Southwick Zoo, Massachusetts

Mendon, Massachusetts (WABC)-Dozens of people were rescued Friday afternoon after being involved in a skyride at a zoo in Massachusetts.

About 40 people were left behind in the heat after the “Skyfari” vehicle at the Southwick Zoo broke down.

“Skyfari” provides zoo spectators with some aerial photographs of animal exhibits.

The video shows rescue teams using cherry pickers to remove people from the ride.

In some cases, rescuers had to enter the animal pen to improve access to people who were stuck.
