Hundreds of Delta pilots remained landing on Thursday and fought for salary increases, which airlines say are dragging their heels.
More than 1,200 pilots picketed at Kennedy Airport in New York, Atlanta Heartsfield Jackson International Airport, Detroit Metropolitan Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and Salt Lake City International Airport. The pilot is working on the same contract that was last negotiated in 2016, and according to the union, no salary increases have been seen for more than three years.
“The Delta Pilot was a front-line leader between COVID and recovery. We skip record amounts of overtime and move our customers away from their families more safely than ever before to their destinations. By doing so, we helped the airline recover, stating in a statement from the Aviation Pilot Association.
“It’s time for management to acknowledge our contribution. If Delta can invest billions of dollars in foreign airlines and their subsidiaries, we need to invest in pilots as well.”
Contract negotiations between the union and the airline were postponed during the pandemic and resumed in January, but pilots showed little movement and Delta and all other airlines continued to have major delays. Says you are watching the cancellation.

Ambrosi called it a “perfect storm,” especially when ridership was restored in time for July 4, and pilots were forced to work overtime to cover the flight.
“Unfortunately, these issues have not led to any further urgency from management to resolve our issues at the negotiating table,” he said in a statement.
However, Delta told Daily News that Pickett “will not disrupt your business.”
