Dr. Anthony Fauci said on Sunday that it is important for the White House COVID-19 Task Force to begin working with President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team to tackle the pandemic.
“Of course, it would be better if we could start working with them,” Forch told CNN anchor Jake Tapper about “the state of the show.”
The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said the transition process is “very important for the smooth delivery of information.”
“It’s like passing a baton in a race. I don’t want to stop and give it to someone. In essence, I want to continue,” Fauci said.
Fauci also noted that President Trump has not attended Task Force meetings for several months.
“It was a few months ago, but when we had a task force meeting, it was run by Vice President Pence, who translates it into the president himself,” Forch said.
“But it was a few months ago that Trump physically attended the Task Force meeting.”
