Cornwall school officials dig up trash and find missing student earrings from a deceased grandmother

Cornwall, NY (WABC)-Orange County school guards went beyond their obligations to help their students.

A fifth grader at Cornwall Central Junior High School told an officer named Tony that she left a pair of earrings on the lunch tray and accidentally threw them away.

The earrings were from her recently deceased grandmother.

Tony inspected all the trash cans until he found the missing earrings.
