Clooney’s new movie, The Midnight Sky, is a warning story wrapped in a hopeful message.

George Clooney’s latest feature film follows a wonderful journey through space after a major event on our planet. The film is part of sci-fi adventures, love stories, attention stories, and hopeful stuff, all packed into one great plot that could happen in the future if you’re not careful. Two film stars, David Eurowo and Demián Bichir, discussed what went into the film’s production and what the audience could take away from the message.

What interests you in wanting to sign on as you approach or read the script?

DB: DB: First of all, it has to do with the name from which it comes, it’s one of those beautiful things that happens in your career that you are sometimes called by great artists to be part of a project. I don’t know if anyone in George Clooney can say no — I can’t and won’t. And of course, the script, it’s a great story, and the character is a very nice role filled with different layers. It was an emotional and physical challenge for me. Therefore, all of these are combined to automatically become yes.

Do: Well, as you know, two words: George Clooney — of course, good for getting the actor’s attention. Then the script, I liked the range and scale of this. As the creator of many independent films, the reason I’m drawn to many of them is that I think it makes more sense than some of the bigger films out there. But it was a big movie and a meaningful movie. It really has something to say about humanity, it’s a pure kind of fluffy entertainment and not only has this wonderful cast, but the central theme is about connection and its need as a human being. .. It’s a big truth in my life in terms of something that anticipates my thoughts.

The role was clearly physically demanding. As an actor, how did you try to manipulate the scene without gravity?

DB: DB: Even if I didn’t go to the spacewalk, I had to go through the whole training anyway, just like any other cast. This is the magic of filmmaking. When watching a movie, it’s just a sequence, but to be able to believe those few moments, you need to go through intense type of training and get the details of this particular trick you’re playing in. There is weightlessness. It’s often said that an actor must be an athlete in many ways, but you should be in good shape. I’m usually in good shape, I love sports, and I exercise regularly, but every time I play a different sport, different muscles hurt. So while I’m in good shape, this kind of workout that focuses on the core and lower back makes a big difference and I feel it. It’s very intense because you feel it during training, but it’s also part of what we love as actors.

Do: It brings difficulties. But thankfully, our captain, in the form of George Clooney, has done some space films himself in the past. He was able to really guide us in what it takes to do that. Starting with about three months of training here in LA, I’ve become very strong and able to actually make something that looks effortless and effortless. You must do so to look weightless. You are supported by these wires and you have to move your body so that when everything in your body is actually pulled it looks like nothing is pulling your body. And there was an element that also involved a great stunt team. bIt also had a huge visual effects component. Tiffany Boone, who plays Maya in the movie, is a very important person to this astronaut’s crew.As such, the EVA she suffered from her EVA leads us to a rather emotional scene. It’s full of action, full of size and spectacular space, but it’s also a very human and emotional scene. Therefore, many things have to come together for the sequence to work.

Would you like to describe this movie as a warning story or a hopeful story? Or a little of both?

DB: DB: Absolutely — I couldn’t say it better myself because we’re looking at it. We understand the wonders of what humans can achieve, and at the same time it is a wake-up call. You know, this is our planet, this is the only house we have, this is the only house we have. There is no plan B. The earth will survive for years and years with or without us. As a human being, the Earth has undergone all sorts of different changes during its lifetime, including climate changes. [we] If we don’t do the right thing, it can disappear from the surface of the earth. [But] I think there is great hope for the character’s behavior, strength, will, and determination. There is great hope because they represent the highest qualities of mankind. Hopefully we can start again, that’s what we actually do every day. You have the chance to start over and over again. What is the point here? If you listen, you can learn from all of this.

Do: This movie is a lot at the same time, an intimate drama, but also a spectacular science fiction movie. It’s a careful story, but it can also be argued that it’s also an unconventional love story. There is a thriller element, and there is also a dramatic element. TWhat it ultimately has is a sense of hope, not only because it’s happening in the movie, but because we live in a world where we can still fix it. When it comes to our planet, we did irreparable damage, bBut we are also in a place where we can maintain the planet to some extent. Talking to environmentalists and scientists, we’re at Knife Edge, but it’s not as bad as the movie, so I think it’s hopeful in itself.IIt’s a noble ambition to save the planet, but I think we can have both. Balancing life is one of the greatest challenges in life to overcome and succeed, and the lack of balance is why our planet is suffering. I think the lack of balance is the reason why the pandemic wasn’t handled well. Lack of balance is why we are struggling with the dynamics of our family. I think the pandemic really shows that there is little more important than connecting with a loved one and prioritizing that connection.

“Midnight Sky” debuted on Netflix on December 23rd.
