Cause of death of “Pee-wee” star John Paragon revealed

Severe alcohol abuse The death of John Paragon, Known as the beloved blue-faced genie Jambi in Pee-wee’s Playhouse, Post learned.

According to Riverside County Coroner, Paragon died on April 3 of “cardiovascular disease with other serious conditions of chronic alcohol abuse.”

He was 66 years old.

The actor, known for his genie chanting of the iconic magic word “Mecareca Himeka Hiniiho,” was found dead in a residence in Palm Springs, California, around 6 pm.

He played that role for almost five years from 1986 to 1991, writing several Emmy-nominated episodes for Best Writing for Children’s Specials.

Born in Anchorage, Alaska, Paragon made a big break as a member of the groundbreaking Groundlings Improv Group. This group includes fellow “Pee Wee” graduates Paul Reubens, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Maya Rudolph and much more.
