Washington DC: Biden’s chief trade representative, Katherine Tai, said no incentives would be offered to American companies moving abroad.
During a trip to Michigan, Thailand told members of the United Auto Workers about the government’s efforts to protect US jobs and see wage increases.
“At the USTR, we want to encourage competition to the top with higher standards and the actual rapid enforcement of trade agreements,” Thai said.
“I don’t want to create an incentive for companies to move abroad to maximize profits,” Thai added.
Formerly the Chief Attorney for the Houseways and Means Commission, Thailand participated in negotiations to support labor at the request of Democrats in the US Parliament.
