Berard, Barron & Jones: Best NY Rangers Prospects

When taking a look at the performances of the prospects that are available to the team, it is hard not to get excited about what the future could potentially hold for the New York Rangers.

The Rangers would already feel as though they have a rather strongorganisation as they currently continue to perform extremely well within the NHL, having had an excellent start to the 2021/22 season.

Brett Berard’s performances for Providence Friars will have instantly seen him become the number one prospect that the New York Rangers can look forward to having in their team in the near future.

He had a breakout year in the 2020 World Junior Championships, but the 2020 fifth-round pick has shown that his reputation as a ball of energy and being a pest for opponents to deal with is deserved.

Still only 19-years-old, it would seem the sky’s the limit for this young forward, as he managed to obtain 11 points in his first nine games with the Friars (seven goals and four assists) whilst making 32 attempts on goal, obtaining at least one point in almost every single game he has played in so far this season.

Morgan Barron

Whilst a number of New York Rangers prospects have managed to benefit by being sent to the team’s affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, Morgan Barron is one individual that may have shown that he is an exciting prospect and one to watch closely.

The 22-year-old has been a go-to player for the franchise this season and has even played for the Rangers this season, however he has managed four points (three goals and one assist) in his five games thus far.

Lauri Pajuniemi

Some would say that Lauri Pajuniemi still has some way to go to excite people as a top prospect, however the Rangers are believed to have been quietly impressed by what they have seen from him this season.

The 22-year-old winger may only have two points (one goal and one assist) in eight games, but he has shown that he can go forward and back, thus leaving the NHL team to be patient with the player’s future.

Zac Jones

On the defense, Zac Jones has to be considered to be amongst one of the top prospects that the New York Rangers currently have, with the player having grown into his own over the last few games that he has played for the Hartford Wolf Pack.

The 21-year-old was the final defensive cut from the NHL camp, thus showing the potential that he has to make it in the NHL and potentially with the Rangers, and whilst there was hesitation at the beginning from the franchise, the player has managed to show why he should be considered as a top prospect.

Jones has looked comfortable in recent games and has been crucial in providing his team with two assists in three outings most recently.

Brennan Othmann, Will Cuylle& Ryder Korczak

Brenan Othmann and Will Cuylle are two extremely exciting players available to the New York Rangers and they have continued to show why they are ranked amongst the two best forward prospects.

Othmann has been a star for the Flint Firebirds this season, whilst Cuylle has been an impressive leader for the Windsor Spitfires as the 19-year-old has contributed immensely in regards to goals, as well as being the captain of the team.

Playing for the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL, Ryder Korczak is another forward prospect that the New York Rangers can get excited about, as he has been able to register a number of points in his first handful of games. Through 10, he had managed to achieve 13 points (five goals and eight assists).
