Atiris Jim, New Jersey, fined $ 1.2 million for opposition to COVID orders

The owner of a gym in New Jersey, famous for opposing orders to close the fitness center during a coronavirus pandemic, is currently fined more than $ 1.2 million, but opens as an “fk” to Governor Phil Murphy. It remains.

Bellmawr’s Atiris Jim became a descendant of the blockade in May after repeatedly refusing to comply with the Garden State closure order.

Currently, Jim has more than 60 citations, for a total of over $ 1.2 million. At the time, after more than 83,000 visits, there were no business-related infections, but one of the co-owners, Ian Smith, told Fox News.

Smith sent a clear message to Murphy and other state authorities in a video shared by TMZ. This video was shot without a mask in the middle of a packed gym.

“Gov. Murphy sees this video and fines us $ 15,000,” reads one of a series of flashcards in the video by smiling Smith.

“But … free men don’t ask for permission, or for forgiveness,” he continues.

“F – k you, Murphy,” a male voice yells in the video after Smith leaves the camera.

Smith told Fox that the governor “thrown everything he could to shut us down.”

“He arrested my partner and me. There are more than 60 citations, some of which are criminals. He is $ 15,497.76 per day for every day we are active. I will be fined, “he said.

“Our fines total over $ 1.2 million, but every day Frank and I open a gym,” he said.

He called the damage caused to small businesses a “total tragedy.”

“I’m going to call it a criminal,” he said.

“You are permanently out of business. You make them dependent on big government. You pretend to care about public health and deprive them of their civil liberties.”

In addition to keeping the gym open when it has to be closed in the state, Atiris categorically refuses to require a mask for those who attend the gym.

“All our other safety measures kept our members safe,” he said, “there were no 83,000 visits and facility-related outbreaks.”

Murphy’s office told TMZ that “there is nothing to add.”
