At least two injured in fire at Yonkers apartment

Yonkers, New York — At least two people were injured in an apartment fire. Yonkers on thursday.
Smoke and flames could be seen coming from the roof of a four-story building on Mulberry Street.
The fire started shortly after 4:00 pm in a bedroom on the fourth floor.
Two people were rescued and taken to a local hospital. A 68-year-old man is in critical condition, while an 85-year-old woman is in stable condition.
The Red Cross is helping nine families who lived in the building.
“I just saw them bring in a cat. My family thought it might have survived. I have two cats, so I know they are resilient. I’m sure they will be happy because we have them,” said Michael Sabatino. Director of Community and Government Affairs at Yonkers.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
