At least 2 dead, 28 injured in Baltimore shootings

At least two people were killed and nearly 30 wounded in shootings at a party in Baltimore, Maryland, according to local officials and witnesses. No arrests were made immediately.

The incident occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, when police were called to a shooting incident in Block 800 of Gretna Central. Well over 100 people gathered in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Baltimore.

At least 30 people were injured, most of them self-evacuated to local hospitals, said Acting Police Chief Rich Wally. At least two of the victims died, including a woman who died at the scene. Three others were seriously injured.

Rebecca Pryor, after speaking with witnesses, said hundreds of people had gathered in the area for an annual celebration called “Brooklyn Day.” Witnesses reported hearing up to 30 gunshots and said, “The gunshots kept going.”

No arrests had been made as of early Sunday morning.
