Assault victim caught cold and robbed in Brooklyn

Two thieves knocked a 34-year-old man unconscious on a Brooklyn street and robbed him as he lay on the street, police said.

The victim was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, but was later transferred to Jamaica Hospital, where police said his condition was stable.

Suspects in the July 10 attacks are still under investigation.

Police say the attacker, a man in his 20s, got into an argument with the victim on New Utrecht Avenue near 72nd Street in Bensonhurst.

A video showed one suspect in a white T-shirt punching a victim, who fell on the pavement and hit his head.

Surveillance video shows the thief performing the robbery after he beat the man and knocked him unconscious, police said.

At that point, another suspect ripped the chain from the victim’s neck, and an accomplice stole the man’s phone and pulled items from his pocket, including a forgotten pill bottle and a wallet he threw back at the victim. I did — I’m clearly fed up with the lack of cash, the video shows.

Anyone with information about the suspect should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
