Architectural Digest joins the Black Interior Designers Network and launches “The Iconic Home Virtual Show House”

New York (WABC)-100 years, Architectural Digest was a leading designer. Featuring the work of the world’s most popular architects and designers.

Architectural Digest now wants to pave the way for inclusiveness by amplifying the voice of African Americans in the industry. Its major efforts will begin on Wednesday.

“We need to hear the underrated voice,” said Amy Astley, Editor-in-Chief of Architectural Digest.

Astley has launched Iconic Home in collaboration with the Black Interior Designers Network.

“16 to 19 designers, all black designers design great rooms,” she said.

Keiia McSwain, President of the Black Interior Designers Network, said: “They are very good at achieving this, being creative and feeling comfortable enough to be free.

The first virtual exhibition hall of this kind features photo-realistic rendering. It provides a completely immersive shopping experience for those seeking inspiration. And it provides to designers who have contributed to large platforms.

Brooklyn-based Studio 397 Samantha Josephat and Luis Medina are responsible for the overall architectural design.

“We wanted to help Samantha, the 397th most licensed black female architect in our country, while we were licensed as an architect,” Astry said.

“We had a great opportunity to use the wellness room,” said Anthony Dunning of Travers Haven Design Firm.

Manhattan-based interior designers have moved from selling furniture to designing spaces for newsmakers and well-known companies.

Dunning says he hopes this historic collaboration will bring even more opportunities.

“People can comfortably dial your number and say,’Hey, I want you to know this big commercial property or work in my Hamptons house or my castle in France.’ You are exposed to those opportunities so that you can. You know, “Dunning said.

Astley is proud of this effort, but says that the iconic home is just the beginning.

The Iconic Home Virtual Showhouse will be held from November 18th to 24th.
